We often find that customers starting on their journey to find the perfect campervan will start by looking at the classic VW camper models and understandably so! The split front screen and curvaceous body of the VW camper not only symbolize a bygone era of freedom and adventure but also evoke a deep sense of nostalgia for those magical days.
For me, the VW camper is not just a vehicle; it’s a vessel of cherished memories. Its iconic design evokes a deep sense of nostalgia for a time of freedom, adventure, and youthful exploration. For us at Sussex Campervans and and for many, it was a companion on journeys where every sunset promised new discoveries.
As a result we, for years, sold and continued to improve on the classic VW, by using a modern Volkswagen vehicle. Using a transporter model, we created, built and launched our very popular VW Caledonia Campervan. Sadly though, despite numerous efforts, we realised that every year the advantages of opting for a different model of vehicle were becoming greater and greater.
It was very sadly that we made the decision, that in order to continue providing our customers with the highest quality products, we would have to discontinue producing the VW Caledonia.
You can still buy a VW Camper
This doesn’t mean that you can’t still purchase a VW campervan conversion! If you value the nostalgia of owning a Volkswagen, we still have some for sale. Our stocklist is regularly being updated, and it’s not uncommon for us to have pre-loved Volkswagen vans looking for a new home.

We give a 12-month warranty on the vehicle (if it is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty) & 36-month warranty on our conversion work, for your complete peace of mind. You can extend this for a further 3 years for a small premium.
Keeping you on the road
We offer a complete servicing and repair package, as well as your annual habitation check.
Winterising your campervan
Using your campervan all year round is the best way to keep it in good condition. But if you know it will be parked up for a while we can prepare the water and heating systems for winter to ensure you can make a quick getaway in the spring!
