I’d always wanted to visit the Viking burial site Sutton Hoo, and this beautiful award-winning touring park made a good base. The Suffolk Coast Cycle Path goes from Lowestoft to Felixtowe, with stretches of sand, pebbles, marshes, dunes and broads. It’s a good area for wildflowers and birdwatching. Visit Orford and see the colourful beach huts and pier at Southwold. The site has good facilities and 45 grass and hardstanding pitches. There’s a great village pub, 600 yards away selling food and ale. There are several other picturesque local pubs.
